QUALITY PROFESSIONAL AUTO GLASS AND WINDOW REPAIRS SINCE 1991

Frequently Asked Questions

My windshield has a crack or is chipped. Should I get it fixed right away?

Yes! If you let the chip or crack linger, even if it is small, it can be easily repaired to help you avoid the cost of replacing your entire windshield. If you leave the small crack or chip, that allows it to grow and then an entirely new windshield will be necessary.

Will my insurance cover chip repair?

Generally car insurance companies cover chip repairs, and will waive any deductibles. Making chip repair a truly affordable service!

Am I required to use the repair company that my insurance recommends?

No. It is your right to choose the glass shop of your choice and who you believe will do the best job.

Why is it important to pick a quality auto glass repair shop?

If you were to have an improperly installed windshield, you risk the chance of it failing you in an accident. At American Glass, our expert technicians have the knowledge and skills necessary to restore your vehicle properly. We never cut corners on the materials we use, and we are continuously educating ourselves on any changes occurring in our line of work.

What is the difference between the windshield and other glass in a car?

The difference is that the windshield is laminated safety glass. This glass is specially constructed to provide optimum safety in an accident. The other glass in a vehicle is mostly tempered glass. It is a lot stronger, but when it breaks it shatters into a lot of little pieces.

Would I get a better value with less expensive glass?

At American Glass, we understand that price may be a concern with some of our customers. But installing inferior replacement glass can put your safety at risk and cost you more money in the long run. Our technicians are always on hand to discuss your options with you and recommend what would be best for your vehicle.

How long does it normally take for a windshield repair to be finished?

Our team works hard to get you back on the road as soon as possible. But we want to make sure that your installation is done properly, so you will be safe on the road. We ask that after an installation is completed, you allow at least 1 hour before driving it. This gives our work time to cure properly.
